Professor David Rhind CBE FRS FBA

Professor David Rhind CBE FRS FBA was Chairman of the former Statistics Commission until the Commission's responsibilities were subsumed when the UK Statistics Authority was created on 1 April 2008.

He was also Vice-Chancellor and President of the City University in London until July 2007, a non-executive director on the Bank of England's Court of Directors until 2009, and until 1998 was Director General of the Ordnance Survey. 

Professor Rhind is currently Chair of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information and Chair of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust Board.
