Main Intake - Statistical Officer (StO)
Statistical Officer Recruitment is now open. The deadline for 2012 Round 1 is midday on Thursday 16 February 2012. We expect to run further rounds later in the year, but this is not guaranteed.
The StO route is the main intake for Government Statisticians.
To apply you should have, or hope to obtain this academic year, a minimum of a first or second class honours degree in a discipline containing formal training in statistical theory and methods (eg statistics, mathematics, economics, sciences, business studies, psychology, and sociology).

We also welcome applications from candidates who do not have a degree but can demonstrate at least two years experience in a statistics-related field, plus Continuing Professional Development in a relevant area which has led to the acquisition the RSS higher certificate.
What competencies are we looking for in a Statistical Officer?

Please note, candidates may only apply for one round per year.
2011/12 Round 1 Fast Stream candidates who passsed SAC but failed FSAC may be offered a StO position without further assessment, providing their FSAC score meets a minimum criteria.
