Authority Diary - February 2010

On 4 February 2010, in response to the recent political and media debate about trends in violent crime, the Authority published a Monitoring and Assessment Note Discussion of trends in violent crime. This is published on this website under Monitoring & Assessment > Monitoring & Assessment notes > Published notes.

The Authority Chair, Sir Michael Scholar, also wrote to the Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Grayling MP on this subject. The correspondence is available under Reports & Correspondence > Correspondence.

The Authority Board met in London on 26 February 2010. The Authority received a report on media relations and related communications activity. The meeting also received a presentation from the ONS on the development programme for the ONS website. The Authority approved the text of its Monitoring Report on Overcoming Barriers to Trust in Crime Statistics - Final Report for publication, and agreed that a Monitoring and Assessment Note summarising the findings from Assessments in 2009 should be published on the Authority's website and disseminated to the Government Statistical Service (GSS).

The meeting also approved the following Assessment reports for publication later that month: Census Special Assessment, Northern Ireland Labour Market Statistics, and Child and Working Tax Credit Statistics. These Assessment reports are available under Monitoring & Assessment > Assessment reports

The minutes and papers for this meeting will be published on the website shortly via About the Authority > Boards and Committees documentation.
