Evidence specialist in the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), UK, responsible for marine and fisheries monitoring transformation.
Beth currently leads the transformation of marine and fisheries monitoring within Defra, seeking improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring activities and in the associated assessment and reporting of monitoring data. Beth has worked on a number of marine initiatives over the last 13 years, including provision of scientific advice and technical support for the Marine Conservation Zone Project, delivery of marine biodiversity assessments for the UK and Europe and overseeing the delivery of seabed surveys in UK waters. Beth also chairs the Marine Climate Change Impacts Partnership Report Card Working Group and leads a task for the European Topic Centre on Inland, Coastal and Marine waters on assessing marine ecosystem services.
