The Office for Statistics Regulation is the regulatory arm of the UK Statistics Authority, providing independent regulation of the UK’s official statistics.
OSR was established in November 2016. A lot has happened over the last three years that has affected public confidence in statistics. We have been developing a clearer statement of our purpose and vision for our work as the UK’s regulator of statistics.
This conference will allow us to explore how best to respond to the challenges of data abundance, data gaps and misleadingness. We also want to showcase our work to improve the value of statistics across a vast range of public policy areas, including migration, education, health and regional public finances.
Speakers include Baroness Onora O’Neill; Professor Deborah Ashby; Sir David Spiegelhalter and the new National Statistician, Sir Ian Diamond.
