The Agriculture and Environment theme covers statistics on food and farming, the natural environment, animal and plant health, flooding and water, fisheries, and environmental quality. Energy statistics include prices, fuel poverty and energy sources, such as coal or oil.

We are currently doing an assessment of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ (Defra) air quality statistics and emissions of air pollutants statistics.

Our future plans for 2019/20 include an assessment of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s Scottish household waste statistics, compliance checks of English, Welsh and Northern Irish household waste statistics, and a review of approaches to user engagement across Defra’s agriculture and environment statistics portfolio.
